Did you know 25% of the world's peaches are produced in the United States? United States agriculture ROCKS! No pun intended, given that peaches are a stone fruit.
Ahh, the peach. What a lovely fruit. Subtle, warm shades of red, gold and yellow with a little fuzz on the outside; white or orange sweetness on the inside. Did you know the nectarine is a fuzz-less peach? I didn't know that until I started doing a bit of research for this article. I thought the nectarine was a cross between an apricot and a peach. The lack of fuzz comes from a recessive gene!
